Phillies fans, get your gear ready. Spring is finally here, which means so is your favorite team! On Monday, April 6th, Philly PR Girl is teaming up with Phillies Nation and Phan Cave to bring you an Opening Day Tailgate you won’t soon forget.
This event is a fundraising opportunity, for which all of the proceeds will go towards investing in the further research of a rare form of childhood cancer called Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS), which young Shane Metzgar was diagnosed with at just 8 months old. It is with great sadness that we report that Shane lost his battle with ARMS earlier this week. Now is more important than ever to spread awareness of this disease and the charity Shane’s parents founded, Shane’s Future Days. According to the Metzgars, “ARMS is a rare and extremely aggressive cancer that affects 300+ kids a year. Unfortunately, many rare cancers lack necessary funding. ARMS needs a voice. Without a voice, nothing will change.”
Come out and celebrate Shane’s memory with us during this year’s inaugural tailgate before the Phillies face off against Boston Red Sox at Citizens Bank Park. From 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. enjoy food, beer, raffles, games, and prizes, a face painting station for the kids in attendance, and a flip cup tournament for the adults. There will be a DJ spinning live music, and special guest “Wild Thing” Mitch Williams will be there for photos and autographs!
Tickets are only $35 for access to The Phan Cave and all its amenities (including private bathrooms, games, and TVs), as well as food and unlimited pours of Straub Beer.
