With the Irish Holiday right around the corner, we wanted to take a moment to give a few shout outs to some of our favorite famous local Irish Philadelphians and share what their plans are for the upcoming holiday:

Kathy McGee Burns is the esteemed Grand Marshall for this year’s Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade. She has received the Inspirational Irish Women award and has been the second female president since the parade’s 1771 debut. Growing up in the Philly suburbs,  determined to learn about her Irish roots, Kathy joined the Donegal Society and became the first female president in effort to continue her path to discover exactly where she came from. Today, Kathy is proud of her heritage, as she will be leading the parade with special guests by her side.

Banners_w_dateA man who has never strayed far from his Irish roots is Frank Daly, a Northeastern Philadelphia resident, lead vocalist of Jamison Celtic Rock and owner of American Paddy’s Production, a company that stages Irish music concerts and events. This year, Frank Daly took part in Philly’s first “Sober St. Patrick’s Day,” in Center City on March 15. For a high-energy, dynamic show, be sure to check out Frank Daly’s talents in Philly’s largest Irish Festival on May 2nd, The 2015 Philadelphia Fleadh, in Pennypack Park.  Connect with Jamison Celtic Rock on Facebook to learn more about this Irish band and to be the first to know of their upcoming shows.

mcgillinsChris Mullins, Jr., is the owner and manager of one of Philadelphia’s top 10 Irish pubs across America by IrishCentral, McGillin’s Olde Ale House. This Irish pub is three- generations old, being operated by Irishmen for 155 years so far! Take part in the Irish festivities early on Tuesday, because McGillin’s will be opening an hour early at 10 a.m. to get the celebration started!

Last but not least, we can’t forget one of our favorite actors and one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Bradley Cooper. The Philadelphia Irish man was voted “Sexiest Man Alive,” by People Magazine, and has always had a great amount of pride for Philly with his family’s roots embedded in the city. We wonder if Mr. Cooper will stop by Philadelphia for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration? We’ll certainly be keeping an eye out!
