Monday, March 2

  • Join host JB Farley for Monday Night Quizzo at Strangelove’s on 216 South 11th Street from 9 p.m. – 11 p.m. No pre-registration or drink minimum required. It’s pay-as-you-go, so come in and show everyone how smart you are!
  • A Better Life Therapy is hosting a weekly meditation group to help you learn about the benefits of yoga and meditation. It’s $20 per session, but you can get a discount if you prepay for 10 meetings. Click here for more info.

Tuesday, March 3

  • SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody is coming to town for one night only, playing at 7:30 p.m. at the Merriam Theater. It’s a whip-smart comedy that takes on the naughty fun of the best-selling book and highly-anticipated movie, and brings it to outrageous life. Enter to win 2 free tickets here!
  • Want to know how big a bull’s heart is or why a chicken can travel as fast as 9 miles per hour? Check out BODY WORLDS: Animals Inside Out at the Franklin Institute, open daily from 9:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. Ticket prices range from $8-$30, and due to the exhibit’s popularity, it’s encouraged to order yours in advance.

Wednesday, March 4

  • Shambhala seeks to enlighten Philadelphians through their program, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, which equips participants with the skills to manage multiple stressors in their everyday lives. Research suggests that mindfulness can support well-being, so why not get involved? Classes are held on Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. on March 4th through April 22nd.
  • Providing a “fresh independent platform for the freshest young artists on London’s circuit and beyond”, Communion Philadelphia is bringing an awesome lineup of talent to the Milkboy in Midtown. Check out live sets by Son Little, Bobby Long, Brayton Bowman, Skyes, and Aaron Parnell Brown, beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 if you get them early and $13 at the door.

Thursday, March 5

  • The Rocky Horror Show is coming back to BrainSpunk Theater. Come enjoy this timeless favorite that began a cult movement in stage shows! This performance starts at 7:30 p.m. and lasts until midnight, but you can catch the show on Fridays and Saturdays, too. Ticket prices are $20 general admission, $15 for groups of 10 or more, and $10 for students/seniors/military.
  • The Philadelphia Flower Show and Philadelphia Style Magazine presents the annual Girls’ Night Out! The night kicks off with shopping, wine tastings, health and beauty offerings, and more. Tickets are $50, which includes entrance into the Flower Show. Join the fun from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Friday, March 6

  • Enjoy a lovely evening listening to both young classical musicians and Curtis Institute graduates as they perform compositions of new music with Still Life with Music. Presented by and hosted at Fringe Arts, the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15.
  • The Society Hill Playhouse presents Lafferty’s Wake, an interactive Irish comedy! Written by Susan Turlish, Lafferty’s Wake has entertained audiences around the country and is returning to Society Hill after first premiering there in 1998. Tickets are $35 with group rates and specials available.
  • LadyHacks, a hackathon for women only*, takes place Friday through Saturday, March 7th – although guests are free to come and go as they like! Organized by the women of the Greater Philadelphia tech community, LadyHacks welcomes participants of all experience levels with tech and creative backgrounds. The best part? 100% of the proceeds from each $10 admission will benefit TechGirlz.

Saturday, March 7

  • This year’s 6th Annual Vegas at Variety event will be hosted at St. Helena’s in Blue Bell to support Variety, the children’s charity. From 7 p.m. – 11 p.m., enjoy casino games, beer tastings, a photo booth, silent auction, and more. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. You have to be 18 or older to attend!
  • The Academy of Natural Sciences will host its first-ever Overnight for Adults party! Who doesn’t want to hang out and drink beer with a giant T-rex? Pack your PJs and get ready for a night of fun and science in the Academy after dark. Tickets are $190 for nonmembers and $165 for members. Must be 21 and older to attend. Hurry, tickets are going quick!
  • The 2015 Red Ball, in association with the American Red Cross, will be held at the Please Touch Museum from 8 p.m. – 12 a.m. “Party with a purpose” amongst community leaders at this benefit gala that’s not to be missed. Join this event and help raise funds to support the Red Cross House while dancing the night away and enjoying a VIP lounge and entertainment.
  • Live Nation is throwing renowned West Philly rap artist Chill Moody a 30th birthday party. The “30’s the New 30” Birthday Party & Concert will run from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m at the TLA on South street. Tickets range from $20-50. Don’t miss the big birthday bash!

Sunday, March 8

  • Performance group Women of Ireland bring Irish and Celtic music and dance to the stage with an all-female lineup of Irish step dancers! Doors open at 2 p.m. at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA. Ticket prices range from $25-40.
  • The Brewer’s Plate is a food and beverage extravaganza boasting a “fresh and local” mantra. This event brings the region’s best chefs, farmers, artisans, brewers, winemakers, and more to the Commonwealth Plaza at 6:30 p.m. Check out the vendors that will surely make your taste buds delight!
