Trunk Show Brings Paris To Philly

Chloe Johnston and Amy Devan brought the chicness of Paris straight to Philadelphia this Wednesday, February 4th, at the “Atelier et Aperitif” Trunk Show. Immediately upon stepping into Amy’s new NAVEDA Showroom (18th and JFK Blvd), guests were dazzled by the elegance of her decadent collection, and by Chloe’s hand-selected designer vintage accessories. Despite the surrounding panoramic views of Philadelphia, you’d have thought you just stepped inside off a cobblestoned street in Europe.

Adorning the tables were some of Chloe’s favorite pieces, which she brought back from Paris on her unique shopping excursions. Chloe is a Parisian fashion, beauty, travel, and lifestyle guru. Though a Philadelphia native, she is passionate about Paris and the city’s romantic affection for couture design. From a young age, Chloe has been studying Parisian boutique culture; and in 2011, she decided to launch Chloe Johnston Tours. A full-service excursion operator, she provides personal and customized retail-based tours of Paris with plans to expand her trips to New York, London, and Milan. What’s more, Chloe Johnston Tours includes an online boutique featuring vintage steals from her travels, like the ones showcased at the Atelier et Aperitif trunk show. Every piece is unique and appeals to bold, retro tastes. From Catherine Loiret handbags, to neck scarves, to a Dior bottle cap necklace, Chloe’s curated pieces are to die for. Not to mention, she looked stunning in her vintage floral jumpsuit!

Around the room, stunning pieces from Amy’s collection couldn’t help but to grab your attention. Amy is a talented fashion designer and graduate of Parsons School for Design. Her bohemian chic aesthetic is inspired by her travels and worldly infusion of cultures. Her brand, NAVEDA, is an emerging luxury womenswear brand, hot off the runways of New York and London Fashion Week. Her Spring/Summer 2015 collection featured a mix of flowing turquoise and pink pastels with muted yellows and army greens, providing a variety of color and textures. Each garment was trimmed with silver and gold sequins and beading, all stitched by hand. What’s so unique about her design is that all Chloe’s pieces are created to compliment an existing garment. For example, a white tee that is dressed up with an elaborately jeweled chiffon top or crochet vest to elevate it to the next level.

Both stylish ladies presented beautiful work, and it was exciting to see so many fashionable women of Philadelphia in one place. Future collaborations between Chloe and Amy are definitely in these fashionistas’ futures and we look forward to seeing (and possibly wearing, if we’re so lucky) their amazing work!
