Monday, January 12th

Tuesday, January 13th

  • Network After Work – America’s premier face-to-face business networking company is hosting Philly’s monthly mixer at The Hard Rock Cafe. From 6 to 9 p.m., chat with a diverse mix of dozens of professionals from all industries and career levels.   • FringeArts’ two-night engagement of Ivo Dimchev’s “Fest” is a small ensemble show that communicates a hilarious dry and realistic professional exchange between performance artist and curator. At the headquarters of an imaginary festival in Copenhagen, standard negotiations transform into a manifestation of sexual fantasy and power.

Wednesday, January 14th

  • Suds Sessions: Wednesday Beer Dinners – Kick back with some brews and good company at Kings Oak in this beer dinner series. Each week, a special guest from a brewery will walk guests through 5 courses of beers paired with four courses of food. This Wednesday’s suds are from Tröegs Brewing Company!
  • This Wednesday is the debut of LiveNote™ Nights with the Philadelphia Orchestra. These performances are more interactive, as patrons can use the LiveNote™app (available for iOS and Android) for an interactive tool to supplement this weekly educational concert lasting 75 minutes.

Thursday, January 15th

  • View Cheryl Harper’s current exhibition, “Convenient Vanities and Political Fancies”, before it leaves the James Oliver Gallery. Peruse her body of symbolic, furniture-scaled mixed media installations on the last day of the show. The closing reception goes from 6 to 9 p.m., and refreshments will be served.

Friday, January 16th

  • Happy Birthday Ben Franklin! Celebrate Ben’s birthday month on a special version of Tippler’s Tour. Join Dr. Franklin for drinks, snacks and authentic stories on a walking tour of three modern day watering holes (Omni Hotel, National Mechanics, Victoria Freehouse) and City Tavern. Tours take place at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th.
  • Check out The Academy of Natural Sciences for One Last “Shot” of Chocolate before Chocolate: The Exhibition closes! This reception, taking place from 7 to 9 p.m., will offer guests a sweet to savory menu of food and beer pairings as well as tips for cooking and baking with different types of chocolate. Tickets are $35.
  • Lunchtime Skating Exhibition – Stop by Dilworth Park during your lunch break in Center City between 12:30 and 1:15 p.m. on select days. You’ll get a treat watching local Philly skaters demonstrate their skills on the ice!

Saturday, January 17th

  • Winterfest Live! 2015 – XFINITY Live! is hosting the Great Philadelphia Winter Craft Beer Festival celebration. Enjoy unlimited samplings of 150+ beers in 6 separate areas like The Bourbon Barn, The Whiskey & Cider Lounge and beer gardens. Tickets are $40 (unless you’re the Designated Driver) and include games, prizes, live music and giveaways.
  • The Walnut Street Theatre is performing Noël Coward’s “Private Lives”, on stage this week through March 1st. In this timeless comedy, a rich and reckless divorced couple find their romance rekindled while honeymooning with their new spouses in adjoining seaside resorts. Tickets range from $20 to $75.

Sunday, January 18th

  • Intro to UX (User Experience) – Girl Develop It Philadelphia is hosting a class for any member who makes, or wants to learn how to make, websites, mobile apps or other software with designs that are useful, easy and enjoyable to use. Tickets are $50.
  • Center City Restaurant Week – Grab your friends, family or significant others for an afternoon or evening of dining at the finest restaurants in the city.
