Whenever Halloween comes around, it seems to be that everyone is in a rush to pick out his or her choice of costume. You can go the political route and choose to wear something a bit controversial. Or you can do the ever-so-entertaining pop culture route and cause a few laughs when out and about. Whatever option you choose, the Philly PR Girl team is looking forward to seeing all of the popular costumes around during Halloween weekend! In preparation of the holiday, we have created a list of the top five trending Halloween costumes for this year.
1. Elsa from Disney’s Frozen – A popular option for fangirls and those with children who are fans of the movie themselves! This costume is predicted to be the most popular costume of the year; everybody loves Frozen, and those who don’t still know all of the words to “Let it Go” by default.
2. Joan Rivers or Robin Williams – Fans of these comedians have numerous costume selections to pick from in paying tribute to these celebrity legends. Just grab a flippy blonde wig and giant sunglasses for Joan; for Robin, you might dress as characters such as the Genie, Peter Pan, or even Mrs. Doubtfire.
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – A good option for all men at any age! This ass-kicking costume is a classic, and it’s hard to misinterpret. Who wouldn’t love dressing up as Leonardo or Michelangelo?
4. Ice Bucket Challenge – This costume is best achieved as a couple. The male wears the bucket, and the woman is the ice cube! A perfect pop culture reference that is easy to pull off and will definitely be a hit at any party.
5. Piper Chapman from Orange Is The New Black – A perfect deviation from the little black dress cat and mouse costumes, Piper’s orange jumpsuit getup is right on trend with this award-winning Netflix show. This is a great costume for all of the pop culture and TV gurus out there!
