Happy June!  Here’s whats going on this week in Philly!

Monday, June 2nd

  • Philly Beer Week Beer Garden – You’re invited to the kick off of the PBW Beer Garden from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the beautiful and historic The Shambles at Headhouse Square where Dock Street will feature beers from different breweries each week along with live music, lawn games, great food and photo ops with the Hammer of Glory (HOG).
  • Negroni Week – For the second year in a row, Campari and Imbibe are back hosting the Nationwide Negroni week. Negroni Week runs from June 2 through June 8, and a portion of every Negroni sold at participating bars during the week will go towards a charity of each bar’s choice.

Tuesday, June 3rd

  • Concert in the Park – It’s time again to enjoy live music every Tuesday and Thursday from Noon to 1:30 in Rittenhouse Park. The concert series will feature groups such as The Rittenhouse String Quartet this week. All concerts are weather permitting.
  • The Wizard of Oz– We’re off to see the wizard..on opening night! Andrew Llyod Webber’s production of the Wizard of Oz at the Kimmel Center. The adaption of the classic includes all of beloved songs, quirky characters, and a few surprises along the way.The production begins at 7:30pm and tickets range from $100 to 20 dollars depending on seating.  Be sure to watch out for the wicked witch and flying monkeys!

Wednesday, June 4th

  • Diner En Blanc Preview Party Get ready for another night of food, fashion, art, music and spontaneity! Past and potential guests are invited to learn more about the event all while tasting samples and admiring beautiful white accessories. The Party begins at 5 and goes until 7 pm. at William Sonoma in the Bellevue – RSVP required.
  • Ballet X Premier Party – Ballet X invites you to see classical in an exciting new way! The Ballet X Premier Party is hosted at Vista at the Top of the Tower. The night will be a celebration of world premiere choreography cocktails, a silent auction and a light buffet. For more information visit www.balletx.org.

Thursday, June 5th

  • The Candy Shoppe – Come celebrate your Pride at SugarHouse casino. All the gayborhood favorites such as Burlesque, Bob and Barbara’s, Songbird, Sinful Sundays, and The Drag Mafia and many more will be performing . Free appetizers, one free Pinnacle cocktail, and 10$ free play come with a ticket! Tickets are 15$ and partial proceeds benefit Manna.
  • Pairings on the Parkway– Every Thursday, visitors can bring their own bottle of wine and enjoy an evening under the stars with live music, while Logan Square Café features a special summer grilling menu. Thursdays, 5-8pm June 5th- August 28th.
  • Sunset Wine Cruise– Pinot Boutiques Sunset Wine Cruises: South of the Border, Wines of Chile & Argentina will be setting sail at 7pm until 9pm. Come try varieties of vine such as the Torrentes,  Carmenere, and Malbec will sightseeing the historic Philadelphia waterfront.

Friday, June 6th

  • Philadelphia Men’s Style Week begins with Cigars and Bowties Fashion Mixer and Industry networking. The event will take place at The Ashton Cigar bar at 10pm and is free to the public.
  • Dockside Bar Opening at D & B – The weather is getting warmer and it’s time to enjoy some of your favorite cocktails close to water without getting wet at D&B dockside bar! The night will include performances from some of the most promising local talents!  Open from 5pm -1pm, come grab some drinks after work!
  • The Beautiful Noise – A Tribute To Sun Ra jazz genius, Afrofuturist, peace activist and self-proclaimed space alien. The night will be a musical experience including live improvised music, video and dance, performed unrehearsed by a cosmic ensemble of star artists who have never before shared a stage. Fringe Arts at 8pm, Tickets are 15$ in advance and 20$ at the door.

Saturday, June 7th

  • Be Well Philly Boot Camp – Join Philly Mag for a day full of exciting things for women to do, hear, eat, see and experience—all focused on living a happy, healthy, inspired life.
  • Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party – The Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party is back. Get there early and save your spot for The Head and the Heart, KONGOS, Bear Hands, and Alright Junior at the all new Festival Pier! Tickets are required.
  • CF Charities Black Tie Gala – Join in for CF Charities second annual black tie gala. The night is sure to include dancing, dinner, and celebrity guests from NASCAR and The Indy 500.This event benefits the graduating seniors scholarship fund and compassionate care fund, which help inner-city youth pursue careers as oral health professionals. details can be found here.
  • Off the Record with Kevin and Joe Jonas – Spend a night having an intimate talk with two of the countries favorite Joebros! The night will include stories, never before seen videos and photos, and audience interaction! Tickets are 35$ and a limited number of meet and greet and VIP passes are still available.

Sunday, June 8th

  • Philly’s 26th annual Pride Day-  Come celebrate your PRIDE at Philadelphia’s 26th annual pride parade and festival! The parade begins at noon at 13th and locust and goes all the way to the festival at Penn’s Landing! The festival will include over 140 vendors, a dance area and lots of fun and games! Come out and show your PRIDE!
  • Dock Street End of Beer Week Music Fest – Beer week is sadly coming to close and is going out with a bang! The annual Dock Street end of Beer Week Scavenger run and music fest! The run is a 3-4 mile fun run through university city and west Philly. After the run enjoy some of West Philadelphia’s best bands, beer on tap, and pizza, What could be better? The music festival is open to all not just runners.
