Every year, the Mural Arts Program holds its annual Wall Ball, and this year it celebrates 30 years of ballin’.
The event raises money to help with the program’s mission to cover the city in engaging public works of art that “transform public spaces, communities, and individual lives.” The Wall Ball also supplies programs for young people and those in treatment for behavioral health challenges.

The 2014 honorees include Mural Arts Board Chair Joe Goldblum, master of fright M. Night Shyamalan, and artist Shepard Fairey, famous for his “Hope” posters used in the Obama campaign.

Wall Ball will be held at Union Transfer on May 29, followed by the “Off The Wall Ball” after-party with tunes spun by DJ Cosmo Baker and Fairey in attendance. All proceeds from the party will go directly to Philadelphia’s First International Street Art Exhibition in 2015.
