As a part of an initiative to bridge the Philadelphia community and the international community, the Global Philadelphia Association (GPA), will be hosting a series of behind-the-scenes visits to six iconic institutions. Last week, Philly  for their members.  PR Girl was fortunate enough to join GPA on a tour of one of our favorite city monuments, City Hall.  We were joined by other local organizations such as AKA Rittenhouse, United Nations Association of Greater Philadelphia, Law Office of Michael Adler,  and Drexel University International Office.

The construction of Philadelphia’s City Hall began in 1871, and to this day, it remains the largest municipal building in the country. The father of Philadelphia, William Penn, had always intended for Center Square to be used for public buildings. Centuries later, City Hall continues to fulfill that purpose.

The informative tour provided an in-depth look at the building where decisions are made and powerbrokers roam the halls. We were given access to the City Council Chambers, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court courtroom, and amazing views from the tower.

Philly PR Girl would like to thank the Global Philadelphia Association for such an amazing opportunity. For more information on GPA and their mission, visit their website here. For updates, follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
