Monday, February 17th

  • Monday Happy Hours at Local 44 – Stop by the Bottle Shop for a night of free beers, every Monday night from 6 to 8 pm at Local 44. This week, complimentary beers will be offered from Victory Brewing Company, with a representative on site to discuss the different brews.
  • That’s So Gay: Outing Early America – Explore gay history in the collections of same-sex novels and poems, held in the Library Company of Philadelphia from February 10 through October 17. An abundance of resources will be available which delve into homosexuality and deviation from gender norms throughout American history.

Tuesday, February 18th

  • Wizard of Oz by American Theater Arts for Youth – Follow Dorothy’s adventures over the rainbow with the Tinman, Scarecrow, Lion, witches and Wizard by the young performers of the American Theater Arts for Youth. Running from the 18th through May 10th at the Kimmel Center, tickets are $13.50 for individuals with special discounts for family series and school groups of 5 or more.
  • The Edmund N. Bacon Prize Honors Ed Rendell – DesignPhiladelphia hosts Ed Rendell for a talk in honor of his lifetime achievement award for success in smart investments in transportation infrastructure. A first prize will also be awarded for The Better Philadelphia Challenge, in which university students internationally imagine the physical shape of Philadelphia in a future of autonomous vehicles.

Wednesday, February 19th

  • Philly Cooks 2014 – Foobooz presents 40 of Philadelphia’s best restaurants, congregating at the Marriott Downtown for The Big Event. From 6:30 to 9 pm, enjoy food, a dessert lounge, pop up speakeasy and craft bartenders. There will be two nights of tasting tours before the 19th that offer the behind-the-scenes tours of Fette Sau, Southwark and Rosa Blanca.
  • Kings of Leon at the Wells Fargo Center – The Grammy Award winning rock band bring their 2014 Mechanical Bull Tour to Philadelphia with opener Gary Clark Jr. Doors open at 6:30 pm and tickets are $29.50 to $65.50.

Thursday, February 20th

  • 1st Annual Philly Sports Roast – Terrell Owens makes his return to Philly to settle unfinished business and set the record straight at an unscripted and candid event, presented by Joe Conklin and Al Morganti. The roast runs from 7 to 11 pm at the Crystal Tea Room with plenty of celebrity guests, including Hollis Thomas, Ike Reese, Rob Ellis, Julie Dorenbos, Colleen Wolf, and Big Daddy Graham.
  • Northern Liberties: From World’s Workshop to Hipster Mecca and the People in Between – For one night only, explore this exhibition which shares pieces of NoLibs’ history and artifacts collected by its residents at the Philadelphia History Museum. Guests will enjoy beers from the Philadelphia Brewing Company, pizza from Rustica, stories from neighbors and remarks from the President of the Northern Liberties Neighbors Association, the artist and exhibition curator and Museum Executive Director.

Friday, February 21st

  • Philly Fashion Week – Ready to Wear Runway Show – click here for more info!
  • Old City Coffee Lunch Seminars – Join coffee buyer Jack Treatman at a tasting to evaluate new crop green coffee samples which will be considered for use in OCC’s coming season. Discuss samples from Central-South America and Indonesia at the Reading Terminal Market location – bring your own lunch from a neighboring vendor, and receive a surprise gift with your $10 ticket.
  • Meeting Moog: The Early Electronic Music of Andrew Rudin – Bowerbird presents a concert portrait featuring Andrew Rudin’s record Tragoedia with live video accompaniment, and Il Guioco (1966), which was the first large-scale, original composition created on synthesizing instruments. Celebrate the accomplishments of this legendary Philadelphia composer and producer at The Rotunda for free, beginning at 8 pm.

Saturday, February 22nd

  • Philly Fashion Week – International Modesty Runway Show at the Crane Arts Building – click here for more info! 
  • Philly Kids Rock Fest – Union Transfer hosts kids ages 2-7 from Trinity Playgroup for a rock carnival from 10:30 am to 1 pm. Entertainers will provide folk and kids’ music, dance and karate demos and juggling routines. Little attendees can plan on making their own musical instruments, dressing like rock stars, and joining in on the moon bounce and dance party.
  • 6th Annual Heart Health Day – Show your heart some love at the King of Prussia Mall this weekend. From 11:30 to 1:30 pm, see a live cooking demonstration by Chef Rich Landau (Vedge Restaurant), try heart-healthy foods from area restaurants, ask questions of Jefferson University Hospital doctors, and meet current Eagles Player Connor Barwin, Swoop, and the Eagles cheerleaders!
  • Rasta Thomas’ Bad Boys of Dance – This fast and furious mash-up of pop dance moves and ballet basics is brought to the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts from February 20-22nd. The Bad Boys of Dance routine is set to popular tracks from Michael Jackson, Robin Thicke, Coldplay, Alicia Keys and more, and the group boasts performances on So You Think You Can’t Dance, Dancing with the Stars, and at New York Fashion Week.

Sunday, February 23rd

  • East Passyunk Restaurant Week – Reserve your seats at one of 24 award-winning restaurants along East Passyunk and enjoy a three course brunch, lunch or dinner menu for $15, $25 or $35, respectively. Featuring traditional dance performances by The Coyle School of Irish Dance and music by The Next Generation of Traditional Irish Music, families can enjoy performances as well as participate in music and dance workshops.
