Here are our must-attend events this week…

Monday, February 3rd

  • Wilhunt Business Solutions Luncheon – Network and discover alliances with like-minded business owners in the Philadelphia area from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Manayunk Brewery and Restaurant. Bring your business cards and $20 cash for lunch to attend! (UPDATE – Check Facebook Page link to see the event is still on.)
  • Stone Brewing Night at Local 44 – Lee Marren will be joining Local 44’s Bar/Bottle Shop combo event featuring the Stone Brewing Company from 6 to 8 pm.The draft list will also include IPA, Levitation, Smoked Porter, Cali Belgique, and more.

Tuesday, February 4th

  • African American History Month – Throughout February, visitors of the National Constitution Center can participate in a number of interactive programs and events which honor African American History Month and teaches guests about the lives of great African American leaders, the story behind the Emancipation Proclamation, and more, free with regular museum admission.
  • Three Chord Fiction: Love Bites – BRAT Productions collaborates with a team of actors and musicians in this rock-theatre cabaret of tiny tales of love. Following the cabaret, BRAT welcomes a different guest band for an intimate set each night of the series at the Tin Angel in Old City. The show runs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night for audiences 21 and over.

Wednesday, February 5th

  • The Bronzed Bee Grand Opening Party – Celebrate the opening of our newest client, air brush tanning and waxing boutique salon The Bronzed Bee, in Rittenhouse Square. The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, with cupcakes and champagne and a visit from the Smak Parlour fashion truck. The first 30 people in the door get a gift bag, so be sure to  RSVP online!
  • Brauhaus Schmitz Happy Hour Fundraiser – For $10 at the door, enjoy free appetizers and beer and wine specials in support of “We The Interns: A Documentary” produced by local filmmakers. Receive a first look at the “We The Interns” trailer, and help the crew raise funds in the final stages of their project.

Thursday, February 6th

  • The Secret Language of Flowers – Spend an evening with Cheryl Wilks, of “Flowers on Location”, learning about the history of flowers and their common expressions. Used for ceremonies and events through centuries, flowers are hugely symbolic in art and function. This free event at the Lower Merion Conservatory will help you “Say it with flowers” this Valentine’s Day.
  • Broadway Karaoke – Join the crew at Mazeppa Productions for a broadway karaoke date at Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar, beginning at 9 pm. Cover is $5 and includes a free drink, plus the chance at door prizes and raffles. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Mazeppa, Philadelphia’s newest musical theater company.

Friday, February 7th

  • Philadelphia Wine Mixer – Meet up with other professions and celebrate with a back drop of live music and artistic history at the African American Museum of Art. From 7 to 11 pm, enjoy complimentary wines, hors d’oeuvres, plus a fashion demonstration by talented local designers and stylists.
  • Philadelphia Auto Show – One of the top car shows in the country makes it way to the Philadelphia Convention Center from Saturday, February 8 through Sunday, February 16. Explore hundreds of new cars and witness celebrity appearances by Bernie Parent, Joe Watson, Brian Carroll and Sheanon Williams. The show includes Friday night’s Black Tie Tailgate, test drives for new models and Philadelphia Union autograph signing. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for kids!

Saturday, February 8th

  • The Philly Mart – Manayunk’s Winter Pop-Up takes place on the 8th and 9th at The Transfer Station in Manayunk. Peruse the works of over 30 talented vendors, artists and artisans from 11 to 6 pm and 11 to 5 pm, respectively. Reference 3 friends to The Philly Mart’s email list, and you will earn $10 of Mart Money to use at the pop-up.
  • D’IYANU Launch Party – Philadelphia’s newest clothing line launches this week! Come check out the collection at Vivant Art Collection from 4:30 to 8 pm. There will be music, giveaways, African-themed refreshments, and the first 50 guests will receive a free gift. Clothing will be available for purchase.
  • Rom Com GayBINGO! – Come out for the fundraiser voted “Best of Philly” for a gay event at The Gershman Y, beginning at 6 pm. The games promote AIDS Fund Philly, a nonprofit which produces a variety of fundraising and awareness programs throughout the year. This night’s theme is Misunderstandings, missed connections and happy endings!

Sunday, February 9th

  • Love Letter Mural Tours – Treat your sweetie to a tour around the city with the Mural Arts Program to view the works of Stephen Powers. Love Letters features over 50 rooftop murals and street-level signs throughout the city, viewed on an el ride with a guided tour group. Tickets are $20 and the group meets at LOVE Park.
  • The Philadelphia Burlesque Bombshells – The Luvely Rae returns to Philly for a Seasons of Love showcase with a couple of friends to shake and shimmy onstage at The Legendary Dobbs. She is joined with opening guest Lily Faye and host Rachel Fogletto, winner of the 2013 Philebrity Awards for Best Comedian. Tickets are $10.
  • 14th Annual Print Love-In – No previous experience is required to learn about the printmaking process while creating your own Valentine’s Day cards, using designs by Philadelphia artists, at the Fleisher Art Memorial. Sessions 1 and 2 are $10 each and are appropriate for children ages 5 and up, while the 3rd session is for adults 21 and up at $20 each and includes wine and light refreshments.
