In its 30th year, the show Flashdance has seen high acclaims all over the country. This season it comes to the Kimmel Center Campus, at the Academy of Music, in Philadelphia. Full of dance and theatrics, Flashdance The Musical tells the story of aspirations and love.
Come for a night with expectations of classic throwback songs and dances, and you will not be disappointed. The cast’s talented kicks and chords keep the show moving the entire time. The Flashdance cast took off to “Put It On”. The run’s first show included some favorites from the soundtrack such as “I love Rock and Roll,” “Gloria,” “Maniac,” and of course the Academy Award-winning “What a Feeling”.
Original song “Here And Now” could have been the wedding song of the eighties if you didn’t know it had been written during this decade. Though each of the sixteen new original songs for the musical were phenomenal. Jillian Mueller’s performance of Alex Owens put Jennifer Beals to shame. Another standout from the cast, DeQuina Moore as Kiki, has a set of pipes that make you sit up in your seat.
