Monday, June 17th

  • Hatfield Dollar Dog Night – The Phils take the Nationals at 7:05 p.m.
  • MANNA’s Ten Million Meals Commemoration – The Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance (MANNA) celebrates a milestone of 10 million meals prepared and delivered to Philadelphia residents with illness with a huge luncheon for MANNA clients and Mayor Nutter from 12:30 p.m. to 2.
  • The Postal Service – Ben Gibbard and Jenny Lewis’ beloved side project perform outdoors at the Mann Center with Ra Ra Riot

Tuesday, June 18th

  • The Wonderful World of Illustration – Free workshop by William Macey at the Free Library of Philadelphia about storytelling, character design, page structure digital vs. traditional format, followed by a Q&A.
  • Rogue Wave and The Boxer Rebellion at Union Transfer  – These indie/alternative bands are each touring their fourth studio albums. Show is $16 at 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday, June 19th

  • Penn Museum Summer Nights – From 5 to 7 p.m., Baris Kaya and his band, Barakka, fuse Middle Eastern, Turkish folk, and Western rock music together for this week’s Summer Nights music series. $5 admission
  • Race Street Pier Promenade – Fare from local restaurants coordinated by Ellen Yin (Owner, Fork Restaurant), cocktails, music, fireworks and other entertainment will light up the promenade. Ticket proceeds ($150 guest pass) will raise funds for arts programming on the Race Street Pier.
  • BalletX Premiere Party – The company’s annual fundraiser will include a wine tasting by Moore Brothers Wine Company, a music performance by Sunshine Superman, silent and live auctions, and a talk by special guest, choreographer Nicolo Fonte, on his upcoming World Premiere ballet – “Beautiful Decay” – for BalletX’s Summer Series 2013.

Thursday, June 20th

  • “Revenge of the Nerds” at Drexel Park – As part of The Awesome Fest – a film festival that “does awesome things with awesome movies” throughout the city – “Revenge of the Nerds” plays at 9 p.m. at Drexel Park at 32nd St. and Powelton Ave.
  • Night Market at West Oak Lane – The Night Market takes up at 72nd and Ogontz Ave with local beers, jazz music, and of course, food for the thousands.
  • Daniel Tosh at the Tower Theater – Comedy Central’s most controversial stand-up comedian hosts two back-to-back performances.
  • RJD2 at Morgan’s Pier – Grab your $5 ticket ahead of time to hang out for drinks and dancing under the stars on the waterfront while DJ RJD2 spins hip-hop and electronica from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.

Friday, June 21st

  • Fête de la Musique – Enjoy the summer solstice with a full day (8 a.m. – 8 p.m.) of free music and entertainment in partner with XPN’s Make Music Philly across the city.
  • LIVE UNITED Summer Jam – From noon to 2 p.m. at LOVE Park, United Way’s Day of Action offers live music, a chance to win Made in America tickets, and learn about education volunteer opportunities as readers, tutors and mentors in the area.
  • Opening Reception for Studio V – Old City’s Bluestone Fine Art Gallery celebrates the studio grand opening for “Best Of Philly” winner, Voila Design. Enjoy sample home staging alongside art, music, and refreshments from 6 to 9 p.m.

Saturday, June 22nd

  • Tracy Morgan at the Borgata – The actor and comedian of “30 Rock” and “SNL” fame comes to Atlantic City.
  • SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody – The Kimmel Center presents a musical parodying the notorious novel.
  • Ford F-Series Presents Toby Keith with Kip Moore – Cowboy boots and Daisy dukes will dominate the waterfront as country singer Toby Keith takes the Susquehanna Bank Center. Tickets are $25 to $110.

Sunday, June 23rd

  • Tai Fit Kickboxing Class – Martial Arts Master Lawrence Whitaker boasts the most invigorating total-body workout, combining martial arts, aerobics, and kickboxing, in his classes at the Urban Defense Center.
  • 24th Annual Manayunk Arts Festival – Manayunk will showcase the work of over 300 artists and craftsmen along Main Street in the biggest outdoor, juried arts festival in the tri-state area.
