Here’s whats going on this week in Philly….which just so happens to be one of the busiest weeks I’ve seen in a long time!

Monday, April 22nd

  •  Earth Day at the NCC – Free with museum admission, visitors can find out how to help their communities “go green” throughout the day, as Philadelphia-based eco-friendly organizations will be on hand to discuss important topics, like the significance of eating locally grown foods.
  •  NOORD pop-up – The Farm and Fisherman hosts a preview of Chef Joncarl Lachman’s upcoming restaurant with a 5-course prix fixe menu for $65/person (including tax and gratuity). Seatings are between 6 – 9:15 pm. Be sure to call and make a reservation, and check out the menu here.
  • Movie Monday @ The Balcony – $3 for your ticket and a drink. 21+ only; doors open at 6:30 and Quentin Tarantino’s latest, Django Unchained, starts at 8 pm.

 Tuesday, April 23rd

  •  Big Ideas, Funding and Innovation – What role does the government play in advancing innovation? How are projects chosen to receive funding? Tuesday’s 6:30 pm lecture at the Iron Gate Theater will feature researchers who’ve generated some of the most well-known scientific breakthroughs of our time and the role that federal funds continue to play in furthering innovation.
  •  EATS Philly 2013: Two Kitchens/Two Countries – A street food battle between acclaimed Philly chefs, benefitting Chinatown’s Children’s Village and the Wat Bodd Voraditth Orphanage in Thailand’s Angthong Province. Check out the perks for General Admission $75 tickets and $150 VIP tickets here.
  •  “Spring Fling” Posh Party – Five Philly-based style bloggers and fashion mavens, open up their closets for you to shop while enjoying cocktails and mingling. 21+ at Le Meridien Philadelphia, be sure to RSVP.

 Wednesday, April 24th

  •  Women, Wine & Wellness – Each month, Pinot Boutique (227 Market St.) hosts area experts on everything from nutrition and fitness, yoga and meditation; to fashion, apparel and footwear. Sample a variety of local reds, whites, and fruit wines, then mingle, network and relax with a light snack.  (Acouple Philly PR Girls will be stopping by this event!)
  •  GoGo Morrow at the TLA – Check out this 2 year vet of Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour as she takes center stage! Find out more about her and then grab a few $10 tickets for you and your friends to see her.

 Thursday, April 25th

  • NFL DRAFT PARTY at Xfinity Live
  • Penn Relays – There’s never been a better time to show your support for the world’s oldest and largest track and field competition. Ticket prices range from $18-55 and vary by day and section.
  • Living on the Margins: Drop City – The first in a series of three screenings at the International House Philadelphia, Drop City is a story of whimsical innovation and the drive to create a new civilization on the scrapheap of a wasteful society.  The film starts at 7 pm tickets are $9 and $7 for students and seniors.
  • Philly surf punk back, Vintage Kicks, at the Barbary!

 Friday, April 26th

  • The Forum of Executive Women Symposium – The Convention Center symposium runs from 7:30 am until 1:30 pm and includes breakfast, lunch, networking sessions, and lectures on feminine leadership, addressing the wage gap and negotiation strategies, board room conversations, and emotional intelligence.
  • Bobby Flay at Williams-Sonoma – Celebrity chef Bobby Flay (of Bobby’s Burger Palace), is currently on tour signing for his new book, “Barbecue Addiction”, and will be at the King of Prussia Mall at noon. Tickets are limited, so call ahead and reserve yours.

 Saturday, April 27th

  •  PIFA Street Fair – The final shebang of the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts! Broad Street will be closed off from 11 am until 7 pm for street fair rides, pop-up gardens, food vendors, artisans, jungle gyms and a dinosaur petting zoo.
  •  Community Health Fair – The Raheem Brock Foundation will be hosting a Community Health Fair at Temple University’s Student Pavilion. The fair will offer free screenings for children and adults on diabetes, blood pressure, breast cancer, dental, vision, stress relief, BMI, fitness demos, and more.
  • Manayunk Brew Fest – This year is the Manayunk Brewing Company’s 15th annual fest. Join the craft beer tasting extravaganza of more than 50 different global brews from 1 to 5 pm for $45.
  • THE LEGWARMERS at the Troc – The ultimate 80’s tribute band! Tickets are $15 for 21+.
  • Flavors of the Avenue – Recently celebrated as being one of the Top 10 Foodie Streets in America by Food & Wine Magazine, 25 of East Passyunk’s most highly acclaimed restaurants are offering samples of their signature dishes in a tent running from Dickinson and Morris. There will also be live entertainment and a craft market, all between 12 – 4 pm. – sold out!
  • The Philadelphia Designer’s Market – 2pm – 8pm at the Broad Street Ministry – Shop Independent Designers of Clothing and Accessories.

Sunday, April 28th

  • Taste of the Nation at Hotel Monaco (5pm – 8pm) Attendees will have the opportunity to sample an array of culinary excellence from the best-of-the-best restaurants!
  • Pennsylvania Bridal Expo – 3 hours of planning and discussing ideas for your dream wedding with local professionals at the Convention Center. Plus, an evening with Randy Fenoli of TLC’s ‘Say Yes to the Dress’!
  •  Fairmount Arts Crawl – Over 45 businesses are turned into art venues, housing over 70 different installations; and along the way, you can enjoy music, dancing, kids activities, live demonstrations, and more!
  •  The Experience: Philly Pride’s Ultimate Day Party – LLF Presents a day party at the Arts Garage from 2 until 8 pm featuring DJs Haruka Salt and Mary Mac, with host Nunn Betta. $25 pitchers of mimosas and $30 of margaritas.
  • World Dance Day at the Piazza – In its fourth year, this free event offers performances by local performing groups and choreographers, as well as a teach-in between 1 and 2 pm, where you can learn dances of different genres, from modern, hip hop, salsa, flamenco, belly dancing, and more!
