GayBingo Support Aids Fund Philly

For some time now I have been promoting Aids Fund Philly’s GayBINGO in my “This Week in Philly” posts.  I am a huge fan of the concept and thought it was time to check it out myself at Center City’s Gersham Y.  First of all, the venue is an amazing place to hold an event!  I was so excited to see the space PACKED for a sold out night, which all supports Aids Fund Philly raise money for HIV/AIDS services in the Greater Philadelphia region.  It should go without saying that you don’t have to be gay to attend; in fact, I would say the audience is about 50/50.  Though, do bring an open mind and a good sense of humor.

This monthly event is now in its 17th season and has raised over 2.3 million dollars!   That itself is a tribute to all the fun that keeps people coming back.  The drag “Bingo Verifying Divas” (BVDs) are hilarious and so much fun.  Another perk is that you can BYO food and drinks.  Grab your friends, get a table, dress up in accordance to the theme, and go to GayBINGO!  This month’s theme was “Sweatin’ to the 80’s!”

Calling all local business owners: GayBINGO has sponsorships available.  Sponsors get to call out a number on stage while talking about your business. It’s a great opportunity to promote your business/brand while supporting a good cause and having a great time.

• March 23rd – Red Carpet GayBINGO. Who will YOU be wearing?
• April 13th – One Look Divas GayBINGO. Liz, Dolly, Marilyn… You get the idea!
• May 11th – Prom Queen GayBINGO. “We all know it’s just a stupid popularity contest!”
• June 8th – Beauty School Drop-Out GayBINGO. Grease is the word!
