Go Vote Philly!

It all began here in Philadelphia with the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  Tomorrow marks that great step in history.  Our Founding Fathers set up a democracy that let our voices be heard; and voting helps you decide your own future by electing a person who might reflect your own views.

If you are still feeling the effects of Hurricane Sandy or do not have a ride to your voting station, Uber Philly is offering Free(dom) Rides on Election Day!  Uber is a luxury on-demand car service via a mobile application and is teaming up with Rock the Vote to offer all voters an opportunity to ride in style to their local polling place.  Click here for more info on this awesome promotion.

The National Constitution Center will have a day-long celebration with presidential artifacts, activities, and exhibits.  It has an amazing overview of our history, and will definitely get you in the patriotic mood.  After that, walk across the street to see the Liberty Bell, which rang out from the tower of Independence Hall summoning citizens to hear the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence.  There is so much history in Philly as it was the birthplace of this nation!  Go vote then soak up the history!

The stakes are high and I know there’s a lot of people out there that want to go out and celebrate or commiserate with their friends and neighbors, so instead of waiting and watching on your couch, go out to one of the many bars in Philly that will be hosting viewing parties as the big moment arrives.  You can watch the results at The 700 while enjoying themed drinks such as The Goldwater, The Obama Bahama Mama, or The Paul Rye ‘n Ginger Beer.  At Devil’s Alley you can sip the Obama Mama and Romney Runner while watching and listening to the results.  McGillin’s has hosted Election Day parties since 1860 so stop by grab a $3 draft and share in the excitement with your fellow Philadelphians.
