New York Fashion Week Tumbler & Tipsy Show

Just because I am a Philly girl does not mean I’ll turn down a good adventure, especially in the pursuit of fashion.  I was fortunate enough to receive an invitation to New York Fashion Week from my Twitter friend fashion designer, Michael Kuluva.  Michael is a professional ice skater turned fashion designer who founded Tumbler & Tipsy in 2009.   Tumbler & Tipsy is a chic fashion line with a whimsical vibe and lots of sequins! This year’s New York Fashion Week show was presented by Just Dance 4 and Style360.

As the lights dimmed and the show began, we were all surprised by a guest performance by  British pop star Cher Lloyd! She opened the show with her hit song “Want U Back.” After her fun performance, the runway show kicked off with E! TV reality star Kendall Jenner. Sitting front row was her crew: mom Kris Jenner, sister Kylie Jenner (who had walked in Avril’s show the night before), PR mogul Jonathan Cheban, and pop super star Lance Bass.   I was so excited to have amazing seats just three rows behind them! Also during the show, US Women’s Soccer team member Alex Morgan strutted the runway with her Olympic gold medal.

Let’s talk more fashion… the collection was bright and colorful, and as a former figure skater Michael sure does love his sequins!  (Notice his blue sequin jacket in the pictures.) My favorite pieces were the sequin hot shorts, and they come in a variety of colors! It was also nice for us ladies to catch some eye candy in a couple menswear pieces as well.

We all know New York Fashion Week is always star-studded, and this show was no exception.  Other celebrities in attendance were Carson Kressley, Real Housewives of OC stars Gretchen Rossi and Slade, and more.

I had so much fun I didn’t want the night to end, so I stopped by the after-party and met Michael who was as sweet as could be.  Thanks for a fabulous evening, Michael, and inspiring all of us to be adventurous in fashion!
