Best Locations for Summer Happy Hours

SUMMER HAPPY HOURS

It’s basically our duty, no our job…to go out and look for fun and exciting places to grab a drink with friends. It’s a hard job, we know, but someone’s gotta do it.  So here are our eclectic mix of favorite summer bars right now. From a bright sustainable farm-to-table spot to a hip alleyway bar, there’s a way for everyone to enjoy al fresco drinking on this list. Three cheers for summer!

During these hot months, all we want to do is be outside before it’s gone, and Morgan’s Pier is a top-of-mind spot. This beer garden along the Riverfront in Philly opens around Memorial Day Weekend each year.  There are an abundance of picnic tables and bright umbrellas, plus a huge tent and of course a great view. Enjoy a menu created by a different locally-acclaimed chef each summer, too!

Happy Hour Days & Times:  Monday – Friday (5pm – 7pm)

Perks: $3 select drafts, $12 select growlers

Revolution House offers rooftop dining on the patio and a cool casual bar inside.  Their roof above Old City has to be one of the best “people watching” locations in all of Philadelphia. They have creative small plates, perfect for sharing & snacking, as well as brick-oven pizzas and a great craft beer selection.

Happy Hour Days & Times:  Monday – Friday (5pm-7pm – only at the bar)

Perks: half-off draft beers, $5 wine, $3 off pizza

Located behind Sampan, Graffiti Bar is an awesome outdoor space that’s open year-round. Grab your friends and head to this bar in an alley in the Gayborhood. We recommend their speciality drinks, made in a fishbowl!

Happy Hour Days & Times: Everyday (4pm-7pm)

Perks: $4 house wine, speciality cocktails, and featured beers

Marathon Grill doesn’t just have their SIPS happy hour bash on Wednesdays. With three locations throughout Center City, plus outdoor space and great food, you’ll want to be there every day!

Located in Fairmount, Fare uses local and sustainable food while also serving great drinks. Sit outside on a nice day in their outside seating space and adorned with a classic Philly mural.

Happy Hour Days & Times: Monday-Friday (5pm-7pm)

Perks: $6 select cocktails, $4 house wines, $3 bottled beers, $1.50 off draft beers, $3-8 bar bites, $1.50 oysters

Fare Restaurant Philadelphia Outdoor Seating

Located in Fishtown, Interstate Drafthouse offers an awesome craft beer list along with a unique pub feeling. Through the back door, you’ll find a quaint patio to enjoy a drink and enjoy those summer nights! If you’re feeling dangerous, we recommend their signature Fishtown Iced Tea, a sweet local take on the Long Island version.

Happy Hour Days & Times: Monday-Friday (4:30pm-6:30pm)

Perks: $4 draft beers, $2 PBR cans

With a separated diner, lounge and garden, Silk City Diner & Lounge has an ambiance for everyone. The Garden offers outdoor dining for both brunch and dinner (while the diner is open until 2am, serving dinner until 1am for after-hours folk). It seems that a lot of people agree with us because Silk City was also voted Best Outdoor Dining in Philadelphia in 2010.

Happy Hour Days & Times: Monday-Friday (5pm–7pm)

Perks: $1 off draft beers

Llama Tooth is located at 10th and Spring Garden with a courtyard with a  bright, awesome mural (for the quintessential Philly vibe). They have an intimidatingly awesome beer list and play great funky Reggae music, which fits perfectly with the laid back patio seating.

Hours:  Tuesday-Friday 5pm-10pm, Saturday 11am-10pm, Sunday 11am-9pm

Perks:  free wi-fi, dog-friendly
