Jay-Z to make a major announcement in Philadelphia on May 14th

On top of the Philadelphia Art Museum steps Jay-Z with Philadelphia’s own Mayor Nutter is set to make a major announcement. The announcement is set to take place Monday, May 14th at 10:30am. I’ll be there to share the breaking news with you as soon as the announcement takes place so check back here for updates.

Rumors are flying around the city. The biggest possibility is that Jay-Z is performing at the 4th of July concert in Philadelphia with The Roots. Jay-Z and The Roots previously played together during Jay-Z’s 2001 MTV’s unplugged show. There is also the possibility he is opening a 40/40 club in Philly. He does have clubs in AC & NYC. The latest rumor is that he is having a music festival Labor Day Weekend! So we’ll see, no matter what he had to say let’s hope its something good and positive for the city of Philadelphia.

UPDATE:  The Press Conference took place with around 300 people in the crowd, including myself, see my pictures below.

It’s official, Jay-Z will headline a two day Festival in Philadelphia named “Made In America” sponsored by Budweiser.   The festival will take place September 1st and 2nd right on the Philadelphia Parkway.   There will be three stages and close to 30 acts.  Jay-Z said himself that he has 70% of the artists confirmed.  (let the rumors begin!)  A percentage of the proceeds will go to United Way.  Tickets go on sale May 23rd and will be $99 for both days.   After the Press Conference he came down to shake hands and kiss babies in the crowd, see my pics below!  The crowd was so excited, even “Rocky Balboa” showed up and local artists (musical & art) were in attendance.  It’s going to be a great way to end the summer in Philadelphia for sure!
