Mumford & Sons Visit Philadelphia

Mumford & Sons made a visit to Philadelphia this past weekend and boy did they take the city by storm!

Studio Session at Radio 104.5

So don’t ask how, but I was able to attend Mumford & Son’s Studio Session in person at Radio 104.5’s Studios on October 30, 2011. BY FAR one of the coolest things I’ve been able to see. The session was closed to public. The band strolled in around 1pm and did a quick sound check and then played two songs. The first was a new song that is not officially named yet. But as the band later said in an interview, Marcus usually get’s his way so most likely it will be called “Ghosts that we knew.” It was amazing and I cannot wait to hear it on the new CD that will hopefully be released in 2012. The second song was The Cave off their debut album Sigh No More. Click here to view the pictures from the session on. I’ll update you when the video is posted….cause you will want to hear the new song, trust me! Also in attendance at the Studio Session was Marcus Mumford’s fiance actress Carey Mulligan.

Private Show

For awhile now there has been a Facebook Page that I’ve been following: “Mumford & Sons to Philly for Marks Birthday.” It’s quite a sad story but inspirational about how music can be therapeutic in a time of need, as Mumford was Mark’s favorite band. Mark Keeley from Philadelphia passed away tragically in January 2011. His friends and family started this page in hopes to have Mumford come to Philly. And just this past weekend, they did!

World Cafe Live – Surprise Show!

It was World Cafe Live’s 20th Anniversary Concert this weekend. When Mumford & Sons left the Studio Session they did not have plans to play anywhere and if they did, they were not telling anyone. But then they popped up at the Anniversary Show. They played together with a band called Dawes, then Feist took the stage after. For a review of the show and a video of their performance check out this cool Philly Music Blog I found: The Swollen Fox.

Is it 2012 yet??? I’m in need of some NEW Mumford & Sons Music in my life!
